Alibaba Group buys naming rights at Arena Corinthians.
Alibaba Group Holding Limited is a Chinese e-commerce company that provides consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer and business-to-business sales services via web portals — with formerly companies Alibaba, Aliexpress and TaoBao — has bought the naming rights at Arena Corinthians.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but in November, Andrés Navarro Sanchez, ex-president and actual Soccer Superintendent of Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, and the administrator of this closed-end investment fund manager BRL Trust, told that they expected naming rights for the Arena Corinthians to sell for at least $10 million annually, on a 20-year contract with renewal option.
The Arena Corinthians upgrades included new lighting and landscaping on a external área, replacement to high-definition vídeo on side boards of Stadium and implementation of solutions, like water layer with luminescent fountains with cascades and water-jets.
Sales Consulting and Trades Opportunities will be presented during and after parties and events and Alibaba will display products at the atrium and lounge places as part of the deal, and signs will be installed on every Stadium
The Arena Corinthians future name will be called the Aliexpress Arena, said Jack Ma, president and CEO of Alibaba Group Holding.
